Substance Use Services Substance Use Services Quick Links Substance Use Services Substance Use Services Our treatment services include family and group therapy, education, and individual and relationship counseling. UCS also offers education and prevention resources on the risks of IV drug use and the link between substance abuse and communicable diseases like HIV. We collaborate closely with community partners and self-help groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Al-Anon, the Turning Point Recovery Center, AIDS Project of Southern Vermont, and Blueprint for Health to support comprehensive recovery. Individual, Group Therapy, and Case Management Services Our individual and group therapy, along with case management services, work in partnership with each person to support meaningful change and help them achieve their personal goals for a healthier, more fulfilling life. Community Education and Consultation UCS provides training and consultation on a wide range of topics, available at our facilities or directly within the community. Harm Reduction Resources Our harm reduction kits help lower the risk of opioid overdose, raise awareness about treatment and recovery options, and encourage individuals to seek support. These kits are free and available in the main lobby at 100 Ledge Hill Drive, Bennington, VT.Each kit includes:Two doses of NarcanFentanyl test stripsA CPR mouth shieldInformation on local resourcesStop by to pick up a kit and take an important step toward safety and support. Intensive Outpatient Services Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) takes a comprehensive approach, addressing multiple factors at once to support participants in achieving sobriety and improving daily life. The program blends group, individual, and family therapy with case management, and integrates proven tools like the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Collaborative Network Approach (CNA), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and more. IOP is offered a minimum of 9 hours each week. Virtual option with evening hours is available for statewide participation. Medicaid accepted only for this option. More details here. Recovery and companion support through CHESS Health Through the CHESS Health eRecovery Connections app, clients can connect with a broad peer community and access peer support specialists around the clock. This platform offers a full suite of digital tools and human support designed to deliver patient-centered care for substance use disorders, mental health, and social needs—all right from a smartphone. Clients benefit from resources that help reduce isolation, boost motivation and confidence, and support them in following their treatment and recovery plans. Companion app: UCS is proud to present Companion, an innovative app designed specifically for family, friends, and caregivers—collectively known as companions—who support individuals facing mental health issues, including substance use disorders. Youth Substance Use Services In addition to school and outreach, we offer individual and group therapy for youth ages 12-18.
